If you are anything like me, you received your essential oil kit and looked at all these pretty little bottles and then thought, “Now what?”

If you signed up with me as your sponsor, you are automatically part of a larger oil community where you can ask questions and do research to start out. But maybe you didn’t, and that’s OK—I am still happy you are here—but for that reason I decided to write a small series about my top 5 daily oils I use from the starter kit.

I wrote this because it was exactly what I was looking for when I began my journey.

So, sit back and relax. There are a million ways to implement your oils into your life and here are some of the ways I get the most out of mine.

Note: I use Young Living Essential Oils because they are therapeutic grade. Check out this post out here on why I trust this brand.

Lemon

Lemon is a serious powerhouse. It smells amazing and can be used for so much. Here are some ways that I like to use it every single day.

  • It is great to add to your Thieves cleaner to amp up the force of the cleaner and make it smell great (just a few drops are all it needs). This works great for wood furniture, but honestly I use it on all my household surfaces. Another great way to use within the cleaning realm is as a healthy alternative to those chemical laden products to assist in getting that sticky, gooey stuff gone. (Anyone else have their kiddos adhere stickers to their car windows?). And another way that Lemon can help mom, —when your little one decides to show their artistic talents on your walls with crayons. Hello, Lemon to the rescue. Also, google all the DIY recipes that are out on the web and Pinterest to make dish soaps, hand soaps and more.
  • Putting a drop or two of Lemon Vitality (the lemon bottle with the white label) in your water or tea can support your digestion.
  • Lemon is great for all kinds of skincare DIY projects. It works great in recipes for lip balms and chap sticks. You can also put a drop in your evening moisturizer to facilitate clarity. (But I would only do this at night, since lemon can be photo sensitive since it is a citrus oil.)
  • Itchy, Scratchy. When the weather changes do your nose, eyes or throat feel itchy or scratchy? Lemon, lavender and peppermint are great mixed with fractionated coconut oil in a roller (I usually do 5 drops each in smaller bottles and 10 -15 drops each in larger bottles—put your drops in and fill the rest with your carrier oil and pop on a roller) to soothe that irritated feeling. You can roll this on your forehead, temples, chest, back-of-neck, etc.
  • Lemon smells so clean and fresh. It can be diffused to brighten your day and spirit. There are so many amazing combinations I can’t name them all. One of my favorites is tea tree, lemon and peppermint.

There is no reason to feel overwhelmed. Once you start using your oils you will realize all the ways you can utilize them in your daily life.
