Let’s talk lipstick. What is your favorite all-time lipstick?
Mine was a color by L’oreal called Silverstone. It was a natural color that had just the right amount of shimmer. I loved it, coveted it, and brought it with me everywhere. It was like a little security blanket there in my purse, ready on-the-go and keeper of pretty, shiny lips.
Then, I started to do research and realized that my little tube contained some big chemicals. So, I was on a mission to find a color that was similar, but clean.
Do you know that we can absorb up to 5 pounds of chemicals into our body per year from daily cosmetic and skincare use? We put thousands of chemicals on our bodies each morning even before we walk out the door. Conventional lipsticks can contain phthalates, lead, nano particles, preservatives, parabens, artificial dyes and fragrances, and more.
When Young Living came out with their Savvy Mineral makeup line this past June, I was so excited! One of the first products from the line I tried were the lipsticks. I mean, who doesn’t like an amazing lippy! I fell in love the colors, and I was thrilled about the clean ingredients.
Savvy Minerals lipsticks do NOT have talc, gluten, bismuth, parabens, phthalates, nano particles, petrochemicals, artificial dyes or artificial fragrance. They do have beeswax in them—just to note to my vegan friends—and they are not tested on animals. I really love that they are naturally derived, and have such moisturizing botanicals in them.
And, just as a side note—I found a color like my all-time favorite lipstick in the Savvy Minerals hue called ‘On a Whim.’ WIN!

The colors in this line are created to bring out natural beauty, so they are effortless shades (think natural-looking) that are perfect for everyday wear. They glide on smoothly, and they have a creamy texture. And they last. They have the right amount of shine, color, give a little pout to your lips, and my favorite part—they feel light on.
If you know better, you do better. So, when you get yourself ready in the morning and glide this lipstick over your lips, it not only looks great, but is great for your body too. It will nourish it, not infiltrate it with chemicals.
Tip: I always tell my clients and customers who are looking to switch to clean cosmetics that finding clean lipsticks is where to start. If you think about it, they are on your lips— so not only do they go through your skin, but you are ingesting them too.
If you are interested in starting to clean up your make-up, there is no better time.
