Let’s talk about this magical little bottle of Lavender. I can easily say that is one of my most used oils. This oil is “the-jack-of-all-trades.” A joke in the oil community is, “when in doubt use Lavender!” It truly is one of the most versatile oils—it’s like us moms—it multitasks well!
Here are some of many reasons I use it:
Some Rest. There are many ways to incorporate Lavender into your nightly routine. Some of my favorites are:
Rubbing Lavender on the bottoms of feet (can either be neat—oily talk for applying straight to the skin—or it can be diluted with a carrier oil.)
Diffuse Lavender in your bedroom at night.
Make a Lavender linen spray to mist over your pillow at night. (See below for recipe.)
Take a Lavender bath with epsom salts before bed for relaxation. Great for achy muscles too.
Make a foot bath and let your feet soak.
Great for skin. Lavender is a valuable oil for skin. It helps support healthy skin by helping to re-balance it.
If you have itchy skin dilute Lavender with a carrier oil and massage over itchy or irritated skin for soothing. You can do the same for boo-boos (minor scrapes and burns). Clean the affected area and apply with cotton.
Apply Lavender to blemishes. Dab some on with your finger or use cotton to apply.
Mix a drop of Lavender into your moisturizer to support dry skin.
Make a mask to aid clarity in complexion. (See below for recipe.)
It is also great for a healthy scalp and encouraging hair growth. Put a drop or two into your shampoo.
Put a drop of Lavender in your mascara to boost natural lashes.
Comfort. There is nothing worse than being below the wellness line. Here is a great way to use Lavender when you have this issue.
Add several drops of Lavender to a warm bowl of water. Place a towel over your head (and the bowl) creating a hood and slowly inhale.
Lavender is also great for making face washes, hand soaps and shower wash. There are so many ways to use this oil and once you get started you will be surprised how many of your own routines you come up with.
