Frankincense has been sought after since ancient times. It has been traded around the Middle East and Africa for more than 5,000 years! It has a historical association with spirituality and religious traditions. This oil has an earthy aroma that helps you feel grounded. Frankincense is an important ingredient in many of the other oil blends that help with being focused and productive.

Here are some great ways to get acquainted with Frank:

  1. Frankincense has many benefits when it comes to skin. It is one of the best oils to help maintain radiant skin. It has a nice ability to smooth out healthy skin. If you want to use your Frankincense right out of the bottle, I would suggest doing a test patch of skin first. If that goes well, apply a drop into your current day time lotion/night moisturizer and apply to face. I, also, use Frankincense to support skin health, so if I have an irritant on my skin, I apply a little frank to help along the natural healing process.
  2. Diffuse Frankincense during yoga sessions, meditation, and prayer for an elevated sense of purpose to create an environment of spiritual connection. Honestly, any time you want to feel greater connection and purpose—diffuse this oil. I like to pair frankincense with cedarwood, lavender and sandalwood essential oils.
  3. Rub a few drops into your hands and cup lightly over your nose. Take a deep breath to help promote a sense of grounding and purpose.
  4. Bath Soak. Add a few drops of frankincense oil to a hot bath to enjoy the benefits of it on your skin, while enjoying a sense of peace and relaxation.

I will be honest, I love frankincense for all that it can do, but it has taken me a while to come around on the fragrance. A friend told me once that the scents that we like the least, may mean that we may need them in some way. Interesting food for thought.
